Overview Inflection AI is the frontier AI lab that spent 2022 2024 being the third major consumer AI story in the world — funded by Reid Hoffman and Bill Gates, led by DeepMind co founder Mustafa Suleyman, valued at $4B on paper, running the world's second largest GPU cluster, and shipping Pi, the empathetic personal assistant that was, briefly, the sharpest emotional intelligence AI on the market. Then, in March 2024, Microsoft hired Suleyman to run Microsoft AI, brought most of the technical team with him, licensed Inflection's models, and left behind a well funded corporate shell with a new CEO, a new strategy, and a genuinely awkward question: what is Inflection AI for now?
