Launched as a beautiful, opinionated AI presentation tool — one of the earliest to use large language models to generate full decks from prompts — Tome spent 2023 and 2024 gathering a passionate design conscious user base with a distinctive vertical scrolling storytelling format. Then, in mid 2024, the company made a decisive pivot: Tome would no longer position itself as a general purpose deck tool. It would become an AI sales assistant, focused on account research, prospect intelligence, and pitch preparation for revenue teams. That pivot changes the review completely. What you find is a sales enablement product — a workspace where the AI does account research, drafts personalized pitch narratives, and prepares a rep for a specific prospect's meeting. Tome still generates presentations, but they are focused sales artifacts, not the general purpose decks the original product produced. The move was strategic and clear eyed.
