Text-to-3D model generation with texturing for game devs.
3D & AR
Overview Meshy is the text to 3D and image to 3D generation platform that spent 2023 2026 methodically outbuilding every other AI 3D tool on the axis game studios actually pay for — the pipeline. Where Luma Genie treats generative 3D as a fast, light, single object generator and Spline AI treats it as one feature inside a web design canvas, Meshy has been the tool trying hardest to answer the practical question a technical artist asks on day one: "Can I actually put this asset in my Unreal project without three days of cleanup?" The 2026 answer is a qualified yes. Meshy's current model produces meshes with reasonable topology, PBR channel outputs (base color, roughness, metallic, normal), an automatic retopology pass on Pro tiers, and — since the 2025 Meshy 5 release — automatic rigging on humanoids and quadrupeds that plugs into Mixamo style animation libraries with one export. None of that is production final on a AAA title. Most of it is usable on an indie release, a game jam, an XR prototype, or an e commerce 3D catalog. That is a different bar than Luma Genie's "concept art in ten seconds" bar, and it is a bar that pays. Founded by Ethan Hu in 2023 and quietly stacking releases through the Meshy 3, 4, and 5 model generations, the company has settled into a lane the frontier labs are not competing in: mid tier generative 3D specifically for game and interactive workflows. That focus shows up in…
